OUR DAYCARE DIFFERENCE

At Paws Pet Pad, we know there is no one solution for any dog. Each dog is unique, and each dog needs a personalized experience.

Daycare designed for each dog

Daycare has evolved in response to all we know about dogs and their needs. It's no longer just social based, and no longer simply about providing a safe place.

Now, daycare is so much more, as it should be, to meet each dog's physical, mental AND emotional needs.

It's not pass/fail. It doesn't expect the same from every dog because it doesn't offer the same to every dog.

Welcome to wellbeing-based dog daycare.

DAYCARE FOR ALL

DIFFERENCE 1

Dogs are as diverse as people; their needs and preferences from day to day can change.

The beauty of a wellbeing-based daycare is we have a program to meet the needs of dogs both dogs who ARE playful and “social” and for those who aren’t.

Even if your dog is nervous, fearful, anxious, aggressive, reactive or dog selective, we have a program for your dog.

TRUST BUILDING

DIFFERENCE 2

Dogs thrive in secure relationships built on trust.

Our trainers build relationships with your dog to bring out their confidence and know exactly how to create an environment to give them the best day possible.

We do this through creating positive associations, making your dog feel secure, and listening to what they're communicating.

BREED AWARE CARE

DIFFERENCE 3

Not only are no two dogs alike, but no two breeds are alike.

Breed aware care is an essential missing piece from traditional daycare models. Every breed was bred with a specific purpose and with specific traits. That's their beauty.

And every dog with mixed background will exhibit tendencies, behaviours and instincts from those breeds.

Breed aware care watches for these behaviours including scent tracking, visual tracking, herding, problem solving and more, and we provide appropriate spaces, activities, environments and engagement to meet and nurture their positive instinctual behaviours.

WHAT'S A DAY OF DOG DAYCARE LIKE?

ENGAGE PROGRAM

Group & Private Engagement

For our ENGAGE groups, we alternate between two extended activity times and two rest times. During activity times, our specialists are supervising in the groups and engaging with our guests. For our late-staying guests, we have additional activity times after our busy check-out rush.

CLASS PROGRAM

Confidence Building & Social Skills

Our CLASS program guests’ schedules are determined individually by our trainer, based on your dog’s needs, frequency of visits and progress toward building confidence. This may be time focused on relationship and trust building with our specialists and trainers, one-on-one time with another dog or a small group, or progression into an engagement group hand-picked by our trainers.

REACTIVATE PROGRAM

For Reactive or Aggressive Dogs

Our reACTIVATE program guests rotate between indoor/outdoor activity times in either one of our two private parks. Our one park provides opportunity for scent experiences, play structures, ball time and other interactive and breed specific activities, and our other park provides visual engagement and interaction with other dogs. Our trainers assess which park is better suited to your dog depending on the signals they give and what they enjoy.

PUPPY PRESCHOOL

Building confidence, relationships and social skills

Our Puppy Preschool guests spend time alternating between rest, play with our specialists and play with other puppies or carefully-selected older dogs.

PUPPY KINDERGARTEN

Confidence, social skills and foundational training

Our Puppy Kindergarten guests rotate through rest and play periods, the length of which will change based on their age. They will spend time with other puppies or carefully selected older dogs, and will have short training sessions to learn basic cues and ongoing  interaction and engagement with our trainers for behavioural learning.

DAY TRAIN

Personal play program plus training

Our Day Train guests participate in their personal play program (Enage, CLASS or reACTIVATE) and spend 30 minutes each day working one-on-one with the trainer.
